Day 1 in Baltimore

An auspicious start to the tour. Plenty of waiting around and paperwork to be done. Plus we had the bonus of a couple of minders watching us in the lock down customs area and we had the privilage of having to pay them 50 bucks an hour. So four of us and 3 hours to clear customs. As the americans say you do the math!
Finally got to the bikes and we all held our breath when Tor went to start his bike. Uh oo! No go. At this point the staff were brilliant and swung in to action. Massive battery trucks were produced but the bike would not go. A suggestion of petrol? Ah yes that was the problem. A few minutes later we were all escorted for a free fill up. Nice one, and a little softner to the 600 bucks they had just fleeced us. Oh and then there were the customs charges another few hundred bucks. My entire weeks budget gone in a morning visit to customs.
However, on the road at last. Just a couple of wrong side of the road incidents to manage and we’re off. More to follow!…….
